FARMINGTON MUNICIPAL SCHOOLS (NM)
Nicole started her career as an 8th grade English teacher at a middle school she attended as a teen. She continued teaching English and added history and reading to her roster, while being a department head and a vanguard teacher for the district. For two years, Nicole served as an instructional coach for Farmington's middle schools as they transitioned to Common Core, PARCC, and their standards-based reporting system. Nicole worked as the Director of Curriculum and Instruction for Kindergarten through 8th grade and soon added 9th -12th for her final year.
Nicole has worked in education for 13 years and is now the Executive Director of Curriculum, Instruction, Data and Assessment at Farmington Municipal Schools. She was involved in the creation of the districts proficiency scales, led the action research that enabled our schools to start a standard-based system, at the Middle School level, as well as The Farmington Model of Instruction that defines best practices for all teachers. Nicole is currently involved in the alignment practices between middle school and high school, as well as creating a personalized online program at Farmington's Alternative High School. Every day, Farmington strives for equity within our schools and truly believe that Success Matters: Every Student, Every Day!
