DR. SHELI PORTER
DIRECTOR OF HIGH SCHOOL CURRICULUM AND INSTRUCTION
CHESAPEAKE PUBLIC SCHOOLS (VA)
Dr. Sheli Porter is a twenty-eight year veteran with Virginia Public Schools. She served as a special education teacher for seven years, a special education administrator for two years, an assistant principal five years and principal at the elementary, middle and high school levels for ten years. She is currently in her fourth year as the current Director of High School Curriculum and Instruction with Chesapeake Public Schools, a school district with seven high schools and almost 40,000 students. Dr. Porter received her bachelor's degree from Michigan State University, her master's degree from Old Dominion University, and her Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Virginia Tech University. She has been married to her college sweetheart, Jim, for twenty-seven years and they have two adult children.
