Fort Worth ISD Assistant Superintendent Dr. Becky Navarre is an experienced educational leader with over 20 years of service in public education. Appointed to her current position in May 2014, Navarre leads the district’s strategic efforts to prepare students for success in college, career and community leadership, the district’s vision. Her strategy involves a focus on effective teaching and learning, standards-based assessment and making sure systems are in place to ensure continuous improvement efforts focused on results. Dr. Navarre believes that in order to achieve future-readiness for every student, the system must focus on three inter-related learning agendas: student learning, professional learning, and system learning. Her efforts focus on supporting and improving learning at all levels in the organization.

Dr. Navarre began her career in the Beaumont School District in 1996. She taught Integrated Physics and Chemistry and coached the Texas Math and Science Coaches Association (TMSCA) at Marshall Middle School. After 11 years in the classroom at MMS, she interned as assistant principal there. Moving to Fort Worth in 2007, she became the district’s Coordinator of Educational Technology. Dr. Navarre was next promoted to Executive Director of Technology, and then to Assistant Superintendent of Technology in 2014.

Dr. Navarre holds her Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Texas at Arlington (2014). She received her Master of Education in Administration from Lamar University in 2007 and her Texas State superintendent’s credentials in 2009.
